PROTECTING OUR YOUTH

Every act of violence, sexual or physical, against a child in this country should be met with swift, severe, and consistent justice. I won’t insult your intelligence by linking studies that show this works. You already know. Or you should.

Every year, tens of thousands of people convicted of child sex offences walk out of court with suspended sentences, never seeing the inside of a prison. And that’s if they even make it to court.

Is that why the offences keep happening?

Once upon a time, we believed in the separation of Parliament and the judiciary. But after Southport, Sir Keir Starmer demanded the full weight of the law come down on protestors, and it did. So, try that same energy with paedophiles.

Problems

  • Predators walk free while victims suffer for life

In 2022 alone, over 87,000 child sex offences were recorded. Yet many of these predators never see prison. Some get laughable sentences. Others, suspended ones. Meanwhile, their victims live with trauma for life. This is not justice. This is betrayal.

  • The system protects abusers, instead of children

Jon Venables was caught — multiple times — with abuse images. Each time, the state gave him a new identity. Protected him. The Bulger family was threatened with legal action for even speaking his name. This system doesn’t just fail victims — it sides with their abusers.

  • Justice delayed is justice denied

Even when a child speaks up, the courts move slowly. Meanwhile, social media users are tried and convicted for “offensive” tweets in record time. The imbalance is disgraceful. And deliberate.

Solutions

  • No more suspended sentences — prison means prison

Every convicted child sex offender will serve a custodial sentence. No exceptions. No second chances.

  • A public sex offender register — no more hiding predators

No more anonymity for monsters. No more new names. No more protections for predators. The public deserves to know who lives among them.

  • Fast-track all child abuse cases — justice must be swift

Every abuse case involving a child will be prioritised in the courts. If the system can fast-track cases for politicians, it can do the same for the most vulnerable in society.

When have you ever campaigned to clamp down on child abuse?

When have you made it clear that harming a child would never be tolerated?

When have you written laws to protect children instead of their predators?

Do you feel anything? Guilt? Shame? A shred of Responsibility?

You had the power to make an example of these monsters.

You had the power to protect the innocent. You chose protection for their killers instead.

The public will remember who refused to stand up for children.

And we will remember those who did.

So ask yourself, sincerely, which group do you want to belong to?
