REPAIRING THE ASYLUM SYSTEM
You know this system is broken. You know it — because you helped break it.
Asylum was meant to protect the truly vulnerable: those fleeing war, persecution, and imminent danger. Instead, it has become an unchecked loophole, abused by opportunists while the British taxpayer foots the bill for fraudulent claims, indefinite appeals, and ballooning accommodation costs.
You’ve had countless chances to fix this. But time and time again, you’ve chosen not to. Why?
Was it fear? Of headlines, of backlash, of saying out loud that the UK cannot continue under policies designed for a different time?
Or is it strategy? Have you driven the public to desperation on purpose, softened them up to accept biometric surveillance, digital ID, the erosion of ECHR protections?
Or maybe… you’re simply not up to the job.
Whatever the reason, the damage is done. And your actions have made it possible for the previous questions even to be asked. Here’s what you broke, and, more importantly, how to fix it.
Your Failures
Exploitation of the Asylum System
Asylum routes are overrun by those exploiting legal loopholes — entering via safe countries, discarding identification, and flooding the appeals process.
Unsustainable Strain on Public Resources
Over 100,000 new claimants annually. Billions spent on accommodation. Public services stretched to breaking point.
Ineffective Removal of Failed Claimants
Tens of thousands of failed claimants remain — stuck in limbo. No removals. No cooperation. No credibility.
How to fix it
Restore the true definition of asylum
Limit to those in genuine, immediate danger; prioritising women and children from active warzones. Automatically reject claims from safe countries. Make submitting false information a criminal offence.
Enforce removals
Introduce time-limited appeals. Countries refusing to take back their citizens will face diplomatic and economic penalties. No more incentives for delay.
End taxpayer-funded legal aid for failed claims
Genuine cases will still find help — through charities or private funders. But the public will no longer bankroll endless legal challenges to rejected applications.
You broke this system. You let it be gamed. You spent public money like it wasn’t real. And then you wondered why the public turned against you.
No more.
We won’t let hatred grow. But we will call this what it is, neglect. And now, that ends.
The era of loopholes and inertia is over. If you won't fix it, we will. Show your worth of the role you have been voted for, or we will replace you with people who are.
