DEPORTING FOREIGN-BORN CRIMINALS
This policy targets the individuals, policies, and practices that have allowed foreign criminals to remain in the UK at the expense of taxpayers.
Some may misinterpret this as an attack on immigration. However, there is a clear distinction between those who come here to work hard and contribute and those who choose to break our laws. The UK welcomes individuals seeking to build better lives for themselves and their families, but, cannot continue to be a safe haven for criminals exploiting legal loopholes to remain.
Currently, thousands of foreign offenders remain in the UK even after being convicted of serious crimes. Some have committed violent offences, drug trafficking, and repeat burglaries, yet instead of being swiftly deported, they cost British taxpayers over £500 million annually to house in prisons alone. Worse still, some nations refuse to take back their criminals, leaving the UK powerless to act.
This must end. If you are a guest in this country and you break our laws, you should lose the privilege of staying here. No delays, no appeals, no excuses. If a country refuses to take back its criminals, we will apply diplomatic and economic pressure until they comply.
This is not about shutting the door on those who want to contribute; it is about ensuring the UK is a place of opportunity, not a haven for criminals. That changes now.
Problems
The UK is spending hundreds of millions housing foreign criminals instead of removing them
Every year, taxpayers pay millions to house foreign criminals who should have been deported after their sentences. Whether that be paying to house them, paying to give them free legal aid representation, some even are still claiming benefits! Many of them remain in UK prisons long after they should have been removed, draining resources that should be used for public services. This is not sustainable.
Foreign criminals are reoffending, and some countries refuse to take them back
A quarter of foreign criminals go on to reoffend after being released. Worse still, some countries refuse to take back their criminals, leaving the UK with no option but to keep them here. This makes communities less safe and erodes trust in the justice system.
Legal loopholes are delaying deportation for years
Some foreign criminals use human rights laws and asylum claims to delay their deportation indefinitely. Others destroy their identification documents, making it harder for the UK to remove them. These loopholes have allowed dangerous offenders to remain in the country far longer than they should.
Solutions
Foreign criminals will be deported immediately after serving their sentence
Instead of wasting taxpayer money, deportation will be processed before a criminal’s sentence ends. Once they have served their time, they will be immediately removed—with no unnecessary delays. We will use the aircrafts of our armed forces to remove if necessary.
Countries that refuse to take back their criminals will face diplomatic and economic pressure
If a country refuses to accept its own citizens, the UK will apply visa restrictions, trade penalties, and foreign aid cuts until they comply. No government should expect the UK to bear the cost of their criminals.
Legal loopholes will be closed—no more last-minute appeals
Foreign criminals will no longer be able to delay deportation using last-minute asylum claims or human rights appeals. The law will be changed to ensure criminal convictions lead to automatic deportation without lengthy legal challenges. And they will have to find their own legal representation, whether that be charitable or paid for themselves, but the UK taxpayer will no longer be footing their bill.
The UK has been far too lenient for too long. Foreign criminals have exploited legal loopholes, reoffended, and cost taxpayers hundreds of millions - while the government has failed to act. That ends now.
You need to show the government that you only support a party that will remove foreign criminals and priortise the safety of the British public. They will never do this until you show them that they have to. They only way they will listen to you is by understanding that you will choice that choice when presented with it.
Well, consider yourself presented. Why do those in power make these simple answers seem oh so difficult?
